IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS
Owl Design have designed 6 inspriational room sets, sponsored by Good Homes Magazine, at the Ideal Home Show this Novmeber. Our six Christmas roomsets have been designed and styled around the key dates of the festive season - Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve. Here’s a sneak peek at this year’s top colour trends, key themes and must-have decorations to create the perfect living and dining spaces to wow your guests.
Christmas day Dining room: Woodland Wonderland

This look takes its inspiration from nature and uses lots of everyday objects, plus plants, branches and berries you’d find on a crisp winter’s walk. Decorate the entire length of your table with a handmade garland, bringing in pattern, linen and wood in a classic colour palette of red, green and white.
Christmas Day living room: Blushing white

Everybody dreams of a white Christmas, and although the weather doesn’t always go to plan, this scheme allows you to create your own. Think warm tones of white and warm blush pink, combined with an abundance of flickering candles, festoon lights and stars. Add texture and interest with gorgeous sheepskin throws and shimmering wallpaper.
Boxing Day Dining room: Film night

Embrace a cosy, nostalgic feel with this updated colour palette using modern geometric patterns, brass, black & white, emerald green and lots of red. Creat your own home movie theatre with sweet stations, movie posters and film timetables to create a cosy space for all generations to enjoy.
Boxing Day living room: Maximalist Feast

Christmas is all about coming together and celebrating with family and friends, so this on-trend scheme focuses on the art of banqueting, with an overall theme of relaxation and sharing. Decorations should have a raw, rustic feel with warm tones such as plum and copper. Why not even include succulents and other not so traditional foliage to create an opulent feel.
New Year's Even dining room: Disco Fever

Think glamorous and luxurious, with a dash of fun - after all, it is a time to celebrate! Use shades of almost-black, dark inky blues, lots of balloons and twinkly lights mixed with gold and silver accents to give this scheme its party vibe. Hang oversized baubles from the ceiling and use metallic bar trolleys to display drinks and nibbles.
New Year's Eve living room: Carnival of Colour

Anything goes with this maximalist trend - as long as it’s bright, shiny and includes lots of glitter and clashing colours. Give your tree a real statement look with ombre decorations in blocks of bold shades – go for quirky touches such as flamingos, toucans or evening hanging avocados!
